Wall Mounted Charging Dock for the Meta Quest 2 | Zyber VR Charging Dock

In this video, I check out the Zyber VR Vertical Charging Mount for the Quest 2 headset.

You can buy this charging dock for $32 from Amazon US ➡️ https://amzn.to/3yLrnEk, or $29.99 directly from the Zyber online store ➡️ https://zybervr.com/products/zybervr-charging-dock-for-oculus-quest-2-cd01.

If you’re looking for a place to charge your Quest 2 headset and store its controllers, either vertically on a wall or horizontally on a desktop surface, this charging dock does this in a nice sleek design, with a colourful glowing light strip at the front, and a magnetic connector that helps charge your Quest 2 without the need to insert a power cable each time.

Overall, this is a decent charger that is predominantly aimed at vertical mounting on a wall, yes it can also be used on a flat table or desktop surface, ideally without the nose piece attached, and it does a good job at that too, but not as well as vertical mounting, mainly because of how the controllers are inserted and held. They just don’t seem right when the charging dock is laid flat. Perhaps if the holder rotated upwards that would make for a better way to grip and stow the controllers, but horizontally when it is flat not only doesn’t feel right, but they don’t fit right when you have the right controller in the left cup and left controller in the right.

Its power connection makes for hassle-free, no cable connection, charging will not be as fast as a direct power cable connection, but at 3 hours, that isn’t soo bad. It’s also a shame the controller holders are not geared to accommodate any controller with a knuckle strap attached. This is always going to be an issue with docks such as this. Yes, this dock doesn’t charge them either, but let’s be honest, how often do you replace the batteries in your controller over how often you charge your Quest 2.

The LED stripe is a nice touch for the ‘gamer’ in you, but I found it could be improved upon. It only really comes into its own in a dark or a dimly lit room, the glow or breathing effect is nice, yet I feel it could have done with a few more evenly spread out LEDs. The rear and side glowing parts of the stand are nice to see, but a little unnecessary, unless it is wall mounted and you might get some light bouncing off onto the nearby wall.

This mount is best suited on walls, so if you’re on the lookout for a charing dock that suits this type of mounting, and you don’t mind it not charging your controllers too, then for the price, this charging dock from Zyber VR is pretty good, especially when there isn’t much competition for powered charging stands that can be mounted vertically.
