The VR Cover for Quest 3 is a great way to improve the comfort of the Quest 3. Thanks to the foam layer that’s been added to them for the Quest 3, they have a little extra padding that’s enough to reduce the forehead pressure of the stock head strap.
Its price, though, is very expensive. I hope as demand and manufacturing ease, VR Cover can sell them for cheaper. Right now $29 for a pair of VR Covers is a BIG ask for just a cloth cover. It IS well designed, considering they didn’t have a Quest 3 to work off, and once attached it doesn’t slide about or come loose, like a silicone cover can do. With two pairs of the same coloured VR Covers in the box, you can wash one and wear one, should you sweat a lot or use your Quest 3 for fitness purposes.
Overall, if you want an instant fix that’s selling today, give the VR Cover a try. Otherwise put that money into a fixed head strap accessory, one that also has a battery, so you won’t suffer from the Quest 3’s current poor battery life. The Zyber Elite Strap is not bad, and ZyberVR has a battery strap releasing at the end of this month also, so it may pay to hold out just a little to assess the many options that seem to be growing for Quest 3 accessories.
If you have several accessories on your Quest 2, these might still work on your shiny new Quest 3. Controller grips like the ones from VR Cover still work, the rear head pad from AMVR I reviewed works just as well on the Quest 3 to reduce any paid from the two sliders at the back of the strap.
