Esimen Meta Quest 3 Protective Controller Grips
So I’ve played a few games with the Esimen grips installed, including CookieRun The Darkest Night, which is a newly released action-adventure game on the Quest store.
I found the grips weren’t too bad. I didn’t lose any tracking from them, and although I had plenty of space around me, I knew the guards would protect my fingers if I were going to hit something with them.
The extra plastic around the controllers does make it feel a little chunkier, which is good if you have larger hands. But I did still have issues with the battery door, which could have been designed a little easier to remove.
The adjustment cable on the knuckle straps didn’t have a way to stow them back onto the grip as I had seen on similar grips, so they hang out loose and can get in the way at times.
The grip was generally comfortable to use, though, so if you find yourself in need of all-round protection for your controllers, then maybe check these out. Otherwise, I find there are less bulky and far better knuckle strap solutions out there.
Esimen Meta Quest 3 Silicone Covers
The Esimen silicone cover for the Meta Quest 3 is a cheap way to get some protection over your fabric-covered stock facial interface. It fits well to stay on but I feel it could have been improved in some places, mostly at the lower tips of the interface.
The silicone material has its perks, it is cool to the touch initially, and its material makes it great for fitness use on the Quest 3 as it is easier to clean and maintain the hygiene of the headset.
The biggest takeaway from this silicone cover is the silicone nose flap. This easily clips into the two holes on either side of the stock interface. With this installed you cut out any light leaking from underneath your nose. You don’t have to even use the silicone cover with this small accessory, you can use it alone with the stock facial interface or any other cover you might have installed, which is a bonus.
Both accessories from Esimen do not break the bank, and they both add and protect the Quest 3 in various ways that make them worthy of your attention should you think you need this level of protection.
