A new update has released today for Synth Riders, which brings with it a new multiplayer mode for the VR rhythm game on Oculus Quest.

This free update makes Synth Riders one of the first VR rhythm games to offer multiplayer mode in its game. The update also brings a significant UX/UI improvements and many other new features.

In Synth Riders player are asked to hit different coloured notes, which fly according to the beat, with the corresponding orb while dodging obstacles. Some notes come separately, others in long lines, some need to be hit with one specific orb, others with both orbs simultaneously.

The multiplayer mode players face against other players across all platforms, who can meet together in lobbies with four others, connect through voice chat, and compete for high scores, all while dancing to their favourite OST and custom songs. Before each battle, players can spice up the competition by choosing from a collection of modifiers such as “Prismatic Notes“ and “Sudden Death”.

You can pick up Synth Riders for 20% off at the moment on the Oculus Quest Store, so if you have yet to try the game out and multiplayer sounds look a hoot, be sure to give it a download.
