In a recent Ask Me Anything, the developers of popular Oculus Rift title Rec Room pretty much confirmed that they are working on the port of Rec Room for the Oculus Quest.
Rec Room is a popular multiplayer social sandbox game for the Oculus Rift, so it of no surprise that its small developer team is finding it a challenge to bring their hit game, or something very similar, on to the technically inferior Oculus Quest platform.
As you can see in the video above, its developers are cagey about actually saying they are bringing Rec Room to the Quest – Their lips are no doubt sewn up by Facebook/Oculus until the time is right to do so, likely at launch – but by saying they are working to bring Rec Room to a bunch of new platforms and mention their logo was listed as developers worked on titles for the Oculus Quest, this leaves very little room for doubt.
I would love to see Rec Room on the Oculus Quest and I am sure I am not alone here. It even got a mention in our Top 12 Games We Want to Play on Oculus Quest. Let’s hope more firm announcements come on or nearer the launch of the Oculus Quest.
