The first trailer for Radial-G: Proteus on Oculus Quest has been released. This upcoming sci-fi racer is being developed by Tammeka Games, and it will be released under its publisher, Things3D, for release on the Oculus Quest before Christmas.
Radial-G: Proteus is a futuristic arcade racer for the VR generation. Players climb into the cockpit of a gravity-defying race craft and tear up the tubular tracks as battle commences. Radial-G: Proteus delivers full immersion racing featuring gut-wrenching twists, jumps, splits and unique inverted racing.
“Bringing Radial-G: Proteus to the Oculus Quest feels like we’re finally bringing the game home,” adds Joe Wee, co-founder of Things3D VR Publisher. “It’s the headset that the game deserves, with enough power to deliver a flawless, energetic gaming experience. Strip away the wires from the VR headset with the Oculus Quest, and you get the most incredible VR racing experience ever seen.”
The Oculus Quest version of the Three-year old racer has been given a new cell-shaded visual style. There will be a full single player career mode, multiple game modes with more to be announced in 2020, a ‘kicking’ electronic soundtrack, unlock able ships, Oculus achievements to earn and leaderboards to compete in.
The Quest is in need of more racers, and it looks like Radial-G: Proteus will certainly scratch that itch. We’ll keep a close on this one as it nears its release date, which will come around as quick as you can sneeze out the words WipEout.
